This July, TREE Digital Studio will welcome to our company Alexander Zoloratev, a popular Russian colorist who has worked on many major commercials, music videos, and films both in Russia and abroad.
Alex is particularly experienced with grading CG work and will be able to incorporate the unique tones and techniques he has mastered in overseas productions to projects in Japan.
He will be available to work from July 18th. Coordination and interpretation will be provided by TREE Digital Studio’s experienced Global Service staff with color grading knowledge.

Born in Moscow, Alex worked as a Senior Colorist at the major Russian post-production house CG Factory from 2014 until 2022, when he became a freelance colorist. He was a major player among Russian colorists, working on over 300 projects a year, including commercials, music videos, TV shows, and films. In addition to clients from Russia, he has also worked closely with top directors and cinematographers from the USA and Italy, garnering attention from creators around the world, including Company 3 colorists.

My name is Alex and I am from Moscow, Russia. I’ve always been interested in Japanese cinema and culture and am excited to begin my journey at TREE in Tokyo and collaborate with my colleagues and many new people! I always make an effort to learn more about color correction as I work! I also want to try my best to learn Japanese and have a good time communicating smoothly with everyone. In terms of grading, I’m attracted to dramatic images with high contrast, but I’m also good at creating bright and fresh tones! I’m also very experienced with grading projects that involve CG. When it comes to commercials, my skills cover a wide range of genres from beauty to delicious foods, but my favorite is car projects! Outside of work, I would like to visit Kyoto, Hokkaido, and many other places around Japan. I would also like to ride the bullet train and experience Onsen. I’m looking forward to my new adventures here in Japan!
